  • Himachal Chief Minister recently inaugurated water sports activities at Gobind Sagar Lake. These include cruises, shikara rides, houseboats, hi-tech motorboats, jet skis and water scooters, marking a new chapter for tourism in the region.

  • Recently Scientists at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) Bengaluru have reported the “first significant” results from the Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC) payload onboard the ADITYA-L1 — India’s maiden solar mission launched on September 2, 2023, by the ISRO to observe the Sun at Lagrangian point L1.
  • The Asia–Pacific Climate Report is a new initiative by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The report warns that global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions continue to rise and without stronger mitigation efforts, Asia will experience more extreme heat, floods, storms, and infectious diseases in the coming years.
  • The Global Environment Outlook (GEO-7) report is being prepared under the stewardship of the UNEP; it will provide a comprehensive overview of the latest environmental research and provide decision-makers with a roadmap for addressing the triple planetary crisis of  climate change,  nature and biodiversity loss including desertification, pollution and waste.
  • The Government of India said that the PM Vishwakarma Scheme gets over 25 million applications within a year of its launch.
